There’s something different about Sydney Sweeney. If you didn’t recognize the Euphoria star at last night’s 2024 MET Gala, a striking new hairstyle might be to blame. While our jaws dropped as she waltzed up the stairs with all eyes on her black bob, her skin was having its own red carpet moment.
This is Sweeney’s third MET Gala, and as a LANEIGE global ambassador, she tapped celebrity makeup artist Melissa Hernandez to ensure she was ready for one of the most influential fashion events of the year.
The secret to Sweeney’s glowing skin: LANEIGE Bouncy & Firm Sleeping Mask ($36). Hernandez applied a thick layer of the mask to the actress’s skin and allowed it to absorb for 20-30 minutes. The mask is formulated with a blend of peony and collagen complex peptides to preserve and boost collagen.
“I love placing it in a bucket of ice for a few minutes prior to application,” Hernandez says. “It cools the formula, adding a refreshing sensation to Sydney’s skin.” Along with this sleeping mask, the celebrity makeup artist used a warm towel to remove the mask. Then, she pressed Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer ($36) onto the outer perimeter of the Anyone but You star’s face, which softens and moisturizes the skin.
Hernandez wanted Sweeney to have heads turn. To ensure she locks in moisture, the celebrity makeup artist applied the Water Bank Blue Cream Moisturizer ($40), which is an ultra-nourishing moisturizer to deliver deep, long-lasting hydration via squalane and ceramides. To finish off the look, she applied a layer of the best-selling Lip Sleeping Mask on the pout, which is also Sweeney’s favorite, as it strengthens and provides eight hours of hydration for the lips, making it a crucial step ahead of important events like the MET Gala.
